Wedding band choices.

2004-12-01
Today’s bride and groom have many choices in wedding bands.
Although the slender gold band is still a popular choice among couples pledging their troth, today’s bride and groom have more options in wedding bands than ever before. Couples often select their bands together, making certain that their choice in rings is as much a reflection of their personal style as a symbol of their love.
Diamonds, multi-hued or textured gold, and even colored stones are some of the latest fashions in wedding bands today.
And that’s not for the woman’s band only. Today’s modern groom is opting for more style in his wedding band, as well.
A man’s diamond wedding band design tends to be quite masculine, with square-shaped stones or a geometric setting.
Brides are also opting for diamonds: Approximately 35 per cent of all brides select a wedding band adorned with diamonds to be worn with their engagement ring.
Flush and channel-set diamonds of any size can add considerable luster and style to a traditional gold band. Diamond wedding band designs can vary from a single row of small square-shaped stones to three or more levels of round or marquise-shaped diamonds weighing up to a carat or more. Some of today’s latest styles even feature a prominent center diamond, either Tiffany or bezel-set, flanked by smaller-shaped stones.
Textured and multi-colored gold bands with or without stones of any kind are also readily available to couples today. Yellow gold, brushed and textured to a rich matte finish, gives traditional wedding bands an entirely new look. Combinations of yellow, white and pink gold also are quite striking for either husband or wife, as are simple bands inlaid with square or rectangular shaped onyx or lapis lazuli.
How does a couple make this special choice of a lifetime? It begins with doing business with a jeweler they can trust. A local, professional jeweler has a wide selection of wedding band designs from which to choose, and can tailor the selection to anyone’s style and budget.
