Alicja & Tom
	We met in the Tuscan hilltop town of Siena during the University of Toronto study abroad program of 2005, which turned out to be an unforgettable experience for the both of us. During our stay there, the town of Siena was preparing for the Palio, a centuries old horse race that runs through the centre of town. Living there for five weeks both of us had visited the same hotspots, unaware of each other's presence. Alicja had frequented the Nicchio contrada (a neighbourhood competing in the Palio) for authentic Tuscan cuisine, as well as the outdoor disco parties that happened later in the evening. One night, Alicja was dancing up a storm with her friends when she noticed that a cute guy wearing a black Lacoste polo and holding two beers was looking her way. Minutes later, Tom crossed the dance floor and we began to dance. We were dance partners for most nights after our first encounter at Nicchio. As the weeks went by we found ourselves spending all of our free time with one another. Once Tom finally found the courage to initiate the first kiss, T&A were inseparable ever since! It has been four years since our unforgettable summer and we are FINALLY engaged!!! Our wedding date is set for August 7th 2010. We do not strive to be a 'perfect' couple, as we don't believe such a thing exists. No single relationship can ever be considered perfect as perfection means different things to different people. We do however believe in always being happy, making each other laugh, and most of all bringing out the best in one another. Throughout our four years of dating we have continuously shown a sense of commitment and devotion for one another. Never did we think that a girl from Scarborough would have to travel halfway across the world to meet a boy from Mississauga. It hasn't always been easy traveling from one end of Toronto to the other but we have made it work. Countless hours were spent in 401 traffic, dates cancelled due to severe snowstorms, and not to mention the THOUSANDS of dollars spent in gas money. The lengthy drives to visit each other made us much more appreciative of the time we do spend together, which helped to reinforce just how committed and in love we are. Our relationship is constantly growing and seems to only get better as time goes on. Thanks for taking the time to read about our relationship. It would be wonderful if we could revisit the place where we first fell in love, only this time as husband and wife!

First Date: September 7, 2005. We went to see ‘Wedding Crashers’ and had a lot of time to kill before the movie so, we decided to go pretend mattress shopping at Sleep Country. After the movie we grabbed a bite to eat at Boston Pizza and then traveled back to Mississauga to attend a UTM carnival. Total date time: 9 hours!

We would like to thank both our families for their hard work at the keyboard!!! Marcin and Marek were the most diligent voters!! Thanks to my dad Gary for spreading the word worldwide!! Thanks to all our friends who took the time not only to vote but read our wonderful bio!! We would also like to thank all the staff at Guardian Angels who helped out with their voting support as well! Our fingers will be crossed until the 10th of January!!
