Allison & Brian
	Brian and I met when we were in grade 11 at Lorne Park Secondary School. We were both a part of a larger group of friends and would often hang-out on the weekends. It wasn't until grade 12 that we started to have strong feelings for each other. Brian got the courage to ask me out to the semi-formal dance on November 1st in 2001. It wasn't long before we both fell in love and were looking at what the future would hold for our relationship. We knew that with University only a year away that we would soon have to make some difficult decisions when it came to our relationship. What made it worse, was that Brian had accepted a soccer scholarship at Georgia Southern in the US, while I would be attending Wilfrid Laurier University. When the time came to say good-bye, we made the decision to stay together. We were young , and the odds were against us, but we couldn't see life without each other. The first year was the hardest, being 30 hours away from each other was not easy. Brian then made the decision to transfer to Oakland University in Michigan so that we could be closer and he could still attend school in the states and play soccer. For the next 4 years we continued our long-distance relationship and would visit each other every other weekend. It wasn't easy, but we both loved each other and in the end, that was all that mattered. We made it through university, never once “taking a break” or breaking up. We talked every day, and always made time for each other. We have now been together for over 8 years. This year on the anniversary of our first date; November 1st, Brian proposed. He asked my parents to invite us over to their house for a home cooked dinner at their place in Lorne Park. When we arrived at their place, Brian pointed out that there was something in the driveway. I went to look and as I reached the bouquet of flowers sitting in the driveway he turned on our wedding song in his car and approached me. As we danced, he spoke about how 8 years ago on this day we had our first date, and 8 years ago we had our first kiss in the very driveway we were standing. He then gave me a kiss and said that he hoped it would be his last kiss as my boyfriend and the first as my fiancee. He proceeded to get down on one knee and proposed. I of course said yes. I'm happy to say that I get to marry the love of my life, my high-school sweetheart this fall. We are set to marry on September 18th, 2010.
